Updating to Google Analytics 4 from Google Universal Analytics

This article explains how to update your old Google Universal Analytics to new Google Analytics 4. On July 1, 2023 all standard Google Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data. This is described in more detail below.

Once you have access to a Google analytics property you will be able to access data streams.

Add a data stream and copy the measurement id.

To setup admin tracking on all campaigns navigate to the admin dashboard under campaign settings.

Enable Google Analytics tracking and enter your measurement id into the field that appears.

Campaign managers can track campaign views by navigating to their campaign details tab.

Enter the measurement id in to the field Google Analytics ID.

Once you have setup tracking with either method you will see data on the google analytics dashboard.Here is an example of the realtime overview.
