We are pleased to announce a discount/promo code type of feature that we are releasing to our Core UI to allow for coupons to be managed from administration panel and added/applied towards reward levels. The new coupon feature provides the ability to add promotions for specific rewards via coupons.

How the feature works

If you would like to provide your backers with a discount (as a percent or dollar amount off of the original price), you can add a coupon code to the specific reward(s) so users can type/paste the code into the checkout interface in order to receive their discount. This can also be applied to the advanced Crowdfunding widget (embedding campaigns on external websites).

Adding coupons

First, you will need to add the coupon via the administrator dashboard. Simply log in as an admin, and go to the admin dashboard, then click on the Coupons tab.

Here, you will see the following interface.

As you can see, there is a toggle that you can enable/disable this coupon feature. Be sure to have the feature enabled if you want to allow the coupons.

To create a new coupon, you can click on the blue Actions button, then click on Add Coupon.

Add the relevant details for your coupon.

Once you have created your coupon, you and your campaign creators can assign the coupon to the reward(s). To do this, go to the Rewards step during campaign creation, then add the coupon code (not the coupon name) in the Coupon field.

Receiving the discount

All that the backer needs to do is provide the applicable promo code to the checkout, and they will receive a discount on their reward.

Take a look at what the backer will see when the promo code can be applied to the checkout.

As you can see, there was a 60% discount applied to the reward. This will also be reflected in the total amount when pledging to the campaign. You can also see what it looks like when viewing it on the Widget interface below.
